‘Orange’ alert for 5 districts in Tamil Nadu today; Rain in 12 districts

A low pressure area formed over southwest and central west Bay of Bengal yesterday (May 22). In this case, it has been reported that due to the depression moving northwards, it will start raining in Andhra Pradesh and it will gradually give rain in the coastal areas of North Tamil Nadu, and at the same time due to the air circulation in the Arabian Sea, rain is falling in the southern districts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. This is the situation till the 25th. It is also said that there is a possibility that the rain will decrease and the heat will increase again.

In this case, regarding this Chennai According to a statement issued by the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains will occur in 5 districts namely Theni, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and Thoothukudi today (May 23) due to the atmospheric circulation prevailing over South Kerala and adjoining areas. Orange alert has been issued for these areas.

Similarly, heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places in Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tirupur, Coimbatore and Nilgiris districts today, the Meteorological Department has predicted.

At the same time, light rain is likely to occur in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Madurathangam and the coastal areas of Puducherry, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai around 3 pm due to the prevailing wind conditions in Andhra Pradesh. It is also said that heavy rain is likely in Perambalur today.
