One of Tamil Nadu’s most senior political leaders, Madhyamik General Secretary Vaiko, slipped and fell at his Kalingapatti residence a few days ago. He suffered a fracture in his shoulder and was immediately flown to Chennai for treatment.

In a statement released by Vaiko’s son and MDMK chief secretary Durai Vaiko, “Chief Minister M.K.Stalin called me and inquired about the leader’s health after learning that Vaiko was admitted to the hospital. The Chief Minister said that he will come and meet Vaiko after returning home three days after the surgery as he is to be prepared for surgery tomorrow.

Durai Vaiko described that the leaders and important personalities contacted him on cell phone and asked about Vaiko’s health with anxiety, “They all shared their wish for Vaiko to get well because of the high value and love they have for Vaiko across political boundaries.”

Doctors have informed that they will perform surgery tomorrow at Chennai Apollo Hospital, it will be a minor surgery. No one should be afraid. He also mentioned that the doctors are taking care of him with care.

Also, Durai Vaiko said that some people are trying to gain profit by spreading false news about Vaiko’s health and he is only suffering from the pain caused by bone fracture, “He is taking regular food as always. He watches his favorite tennis matches avidly on television. He watches TV news and exchanges information from time to time. So reject any news about him.” He also said.
